Consultant Spotlight – Chris Manning

RLR Management Consulting is celebrating our Director of Information Systems, Chris Manning. Chris has been with our firm for more than 20 years and has over 35 years of experience in the financial industry. His experience includes line management as the IT director for a $3.5 billion bank and over 20 years as a consultant. Chris has managed a wide variety of IT related projects for financial institutions specializing in Information Security, Cyber Security, and IT Compliance. Chris continues to assist our clients with IT Compliance documentation, IT Audits, Information Security, IT Risk Assessments.
When asked about his favorite aspects of being a consultant Chris stated, ” I enjoy working with people and helping our clients learn how to ensure they have successful audits from financial institution regulators.” Chris advises younger consultants and bankers to “make learning everything about the industry a priority and try to find someone with experience to be your mentor.”
During his career with RLR, Chris has conducted over 250 successful third party IT audits for clients. He has used his extensive experience in information technology strategic planning, networks and network security, and Information Technology to not only successfully perform IT audits but to also assist our clients with network design, security reviews, risk assessments and to resolve complex IT related compliance issues.
As RLR’s longest tenured consultant, when asked about RLR he noted “I enjoy the professionalism, knowledge, and expertise of all those who are part of RLR and the many friendships I have developed over the years at our client banks”.
Chris holds a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification and is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands, and an M.B.A degree from Cal Poly Pomona.
Chris resides in Portland, Oregon and in his little spare time enjoys Oregon’s great outdoors, cooking, and barbequing.
